Are you coachable?

  My current school uses more than one type of coaching systems. My current principal implements both the teacher-initiated coaching and administrator initiated coaching systems. I think it's wise to provide opportunities for teachers to volunteer and arrange to be in a coaching relationship with their school appointed instructional coach. This provides teachers with a more comfortable transition. Whereas, under the administrator- initiated coaching relationship, the principal will request this coaching relationship. This can make a teacher feel as if they are being watched and or the principal does not have confidence in their teaching ability.
